I don't know if it was fear but his sense for humor ran rampid. He kept every one in the emergacy laughing, he had a joke for every nurse that entered his room. He kept us all entertained as we sat fearing the worst. He was so pleasant through the pain of a broken hip, we we were all amazed. You have got to admire someone like that, I am sure the hospital staff does.
One of the OR nurses told him she loved him. After surgery to repair the break, he will be in the hospital a few more days and them maybe rehab, or home. He wants to come home, so I hope they let him. I have to take care of him when he comes home, so I may be recanting this story, because like others I know he can be an ornery old fart too, but to see his reaction to all of this was amazing. He could sure set an example for a world full of complainers. The Doc said he will be as good as new is about 3 months. I don't think he heard these words. Three months of therapy ouch.
